Musikfest 2025: A Record-Breaking Celebration of Music & Community

The 42nd annual Musikfest has officially gone down in history as the festival’s biggest year yet. Over the course of 11 nights and 10 days, Bethlehem, PA welcomed an astounding 1,449,000 attendees — breaking previous records and drawing music fans from 49 states, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and seven countries including Canada, Colombia, Great Britain, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, and South Africa. Musikfest once again proved why it’s the largest free music festival in the nation, bringing people together for a one-of-a-kind celebration of music, culture, and community.

This year marked Synergetic’s third consecutive year as the audio and lighting provider for the Wind Creek Steel Stage, the largest venue at Musikfest, and we were proud to also provide audio and lighting for the SteelStacks stage. Our team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that every show was flawless, delivering crystal-clear sound and stunning visuals that matched the energy of the performers on stage.

We start our load in 5 days prior to opening night and our team stays on site for the 11 nights of concerts. To make it happen, Synergetic deployed a powerful array processed D&B audio system with Avid S6L consoles, paired with an Elation and Chauvet lighting rig controlled by MA3 consoles. We do our best to change up the lighting design each year to give the audience a different look. And the bands always appreciate our attention to making the PA sound just like their tour rig. These industry-leading systems gave both artists and audiences the very best in live production — whether it was the punch of The Black Key’s anthem or the subtle glow of a Darius Rucker song under the lights.

Our Project Manager for Musikfest is Mike Simpson, who has been the same PM for the last 3 years – “Triple digit heat during the build gave way to cool beautiful nights for the shows, giving much needed relief to the crew and a boost in ticket sales for the festival. With several sell outs and almost every night attendance exceeding 6k, it was the most successful Musikfest in years.” Mike said. Several changes were made to the crew this year and the crew worked well together, with seasoned Musikfest vets helping the first timers. Happy client, happy crew, can’t wait to go back!”.

The lineup was as impressive as the crowds. Headliners like Megan Moroney, Riley Green, Darius Rucker, The Black Crowes, Chicago, Nelly, Third Eye Blind, and The Black Keys brought unforgettable performances to the Steel Stage. Their shows helped drive a new festival milestone: 60,800 headliner tickets sold — a 10% increase and 6,000 more tickets than the previous record, setting a new standard for Musikfest’s 42-year history.

Adding to the magic, the weather was perfect for the entire run of the festival. With warm, sun-soaked days and clear nights, every concert became a memory-making experience — from families enjoying their first Musikfest to fans who have made it a summer tradition for decades.

From the very first phone call in January, to the soundchecks, to the final encore, our goal was simple: to create an atmosphere where music could thrive and fans could connect with the artists they love.
